Yoke of the Past — Adena & XP Farm
Yoke of the Past is one of those Interlude farm quests every Catacomb/Necropolis runner ends up doing. The loop is dead simple: turn in Scrolls of Ancient Magic to Gatekeeper Ziggurat at any Catacomb or Necropolis entrance, get Blank Scrolls back. Blank Scrolls then feed into the Seven Signs economy — trade them to the Merchant of Mammon for skillbooks, or dump them on the market for adena. Min level is 20+, but realistically you want 40-60+ so the Necropolis mobs don't chew you. It's fully repeatable, no daily cap, and it stacks on top of whatever XP grind you were already doing.

Krok 1
Head to Gatekeeper Ziggurat at any Catacomb or Necropolis entrance and accept the quest. Lore-wise he's a cursed NPC trying to become human again — mechanically he just hands you the objective. No entry items, no prerequisites, no fee. -

Krok 2
Go inside and farm mobs whose names contain Lookout, Watcher, Guard, Monk, Overlord, Shaman, Consul, Inquisitor, Guardian, Elder, Court Guard, or Preacher. They drop Scroll of Ancient Magic. Skip Nephilim, Lilim, Gigant and Lilith — they do NOT count for this quest even though they share the same rooms. Any Catacomb or Necropolis works, so pick the one that matches your level and party comp; there's no location bonus. -

Once you've got a stack, port back to the entrance and hand the Scrolls of Ancient Magic to Gatekeeper Ziggurat. He converts them into Blank Scrolls. From there it's your call — hoard them for the Merchant of Mammon and grab Seven Signs skillbooks, or list them on the trade channel for adena. Both are legit exits.

How many Scrolls of Ancient Magic per turn-in?
The exact count varies between Interlude builds — see the manual_review_note. Most private servers use a fixed bundle size rather than one-for-one; check your server's quest data.
Can I run this in a party?
Yes. Drops roll per-eligible-member, so everyone in the party who has the quest active and lands damage will collect their own Scrolls.
Does the quest still make sense on high-rate servers?
Usually not economically, since adena and skillbooks are trivial to farm directly on x100+ rates. But if it's not disabled, it's a lazy passive during regular grind.
Where do I find Gatekeeper Ziggurat?
At the entrance of every Catacomb and Necropolis on the map. Any one of them works — the closest to your farm zone is fine.
Is the Blank Scroll the same as the enchant-crafting Blank Scroll?
No, unrelated. This one is a Seven Signs quest item used for skillbook exchange with the Merchant of Mammon or resold for adena.
