PK Cleansing (Repent Your Sins) — L2 Interlude Quest
Repent Your Sins is the go-to quest for anyone who ended up with a positive PK count on Interlude and wants to clean it off before it costs them gear on the next unlucky death. It's repeatable, has no strict level requirement (you just need PK on you), and the reward is exactly what says on the tin — a reduction in your PK counter. The catch is the grind: you're not just talking to an NPC once, you're crafting an item, equipping it, and farming mobs with it on for as long as it takes. Bring patience and a full farming set.

Krok 1
Head to Hardin's Private Academy and talk to the Black Judge. He'll give you the flavor text about atoning for your sins, but what it really means: gather materials, craft a bracer, farm with it on. -

Krok 2
Collect the four crafting materials: Steel, Adamantite Nugget, Silver Nugget, and Coke. You can hunt them from appropriate mobs, but on a populated server it's usually faster to just buy the stack off private stores in Giran than to grind specific spots. -

Krok 3
Travel to Giran and bring the materials to Blacksmith Pushkin. He'll craft you a Penitent's Manacle — the whole point of this quest. Without it equipped, nothing you do will lower your PK count. -

Krok 4
Equip the Penitent's Manacle and go grind mobs at your own level. Each kill chips away at your PK counter. Grey mobs won't count for meaningful progress — stick to level-appropriate targets. Party farming is fine as long as the manacle is on you and you're getting kill credit. -

Krok 5
Once you've farmed for a while, return to the Black Judge at Hardin's Private Academy to check your progress. If PKs remain, you'll likely need to craft another manacle and repeat the cycle: gather, craft, farm, return.

Do I have to use this quest, or will karma drop on its own?
Karma and PK count are separate. Karma washes off through normal PvE or death, but the PK counter itself only comes down through this quest with the Penitent's Manacle equipped.
Can I farm in a party?
Yes. Party farming works, just make sure the manacle is on your character and you're the one getting kill credit.
How long does this take?
Depends entirely on your PK count. A small number can be cleared in a few hours; a heavy PK record can stretch into days because you'll need to craft the manacle several times over.
Where's the fastest place to get Steel, Adamantite Nugget, Silver Nugget and Coke?
On a live server, the private stores in Giran are usually the fastest source. If the market is thin, fall back to farming them from level-appropriate mobs.
